Blogger's Quilt Festival

First, let me come clean and admit that the only reason that I have this blog is so that I can enter Amy's Blogger's Quilt Festival. I have the best intentions about blogging, but it never happens. I love reading everybody else's blogs and then never get around to mine. Oh well!

My quilt for the Fall 2010 Blogger's Quilt Festival is the quilt that I completed for the 2010 Sister's Outdoor Quilt Show in Sisters, Oregon. I started this quilt two years ago when I got Valori Wells' book Simple Start Stunning Finish. I fell in love with her Yard Sale quilt and started collecting Flea Market Fancy and Katie Jump Rope fabrics for my version. Valori's version had just Flea Market Fancy, but it was already hard to come by Flea Market Fancy back then! I followed her pattern and then quilted it myself with wavy lines like one of the quilts that I had seen on Amanda Jean's blog a long time ago. I love this quilt and it lives at my house and makes me smile every day. All the bright colors are just so happy!

I have been lucky enough to attend the Sister's Outdoor Quilt Show for the last three years and it is an amazing show. Sisters is such an amazing little town and the atmosphere during the quilt show is so inspiring! If you every have the chance to go, don't hesitate, just go! You will not regret it!

  6. One of these years I will haul my body up to Sisters. I've heard lots of wonderful things about the quilt extravaganza.
